Leanna Matta is a familial fiber arts collaborative; we produce with wool, monks cloth, and other fibers using industrial tools and then sculpt by hand. We believe texture is a natural and tactile language that harmonizes with the visual language. The work we generate has been inspired by our heritage and experiences in northern Wisconsin along with elevating fiber beyond domesticity. We have a passion for texture and a longing to explore ways we can create new textures and push the simplicity or complexity of design. Our original designs strive to be contemporary, contemplative, observational, natural, imaginative, and nostalgic.
